Obsolescence Protection Policy

For as long you maintain an unbroken record of annual warranty renewals, TimeLogic will continue to extend our obsolescence protection guarantee. This means that if we introduce an accelerated feature that can’t be executed on your current accelerator version, TimeLogic will offer to exchange your accelerator card(s), less accumulated depreciation over 60 months, for a newer version at the same aggregate system speed.

Note that since newer accelerator designs are generally faster—per card module—than prior designs, it is normally the case that such exchanges are not for identical card quantity. Additional speed, if desired, is quoted and invoiced separately at time of upgrade.

This is a unique policy among hardware vendors, and adds significant value to our Annual Support Contract.

Upgrade Opportunity

At the time of card exchange, you may wish to investigate your computational load to determine if additional acceleration is warranted.

TimeLogic makes it attractive to purchase or upgrade DeCypher for tomorrow's needs. This is possible for configurations up to approximately 1 trillion Smith-Waterman cells/second and 200 trillion BLASTN base pair comparisons per second. Contact your Sales Advisor for details.

Included Algorithms:

Hardware Accelerated on DeCypher FPGA arrays:
Non-affine and affine Smith-Waterman, Double-Affine Smith-Waterman, Semi-Global Smith-Waterman, HMM, FrameSearch, HMM-FrameSearch, Profilesearch and Profilescan, Profile-FrameSearch, Symmetric Frame Independent, Tera-BLASTN, Tera-BLASTP, Tera-BLASTX, Tera-TBLASTN, and Tera-TBLASTX.

CPU-based (may be multi-threaded for faster speed on multi-CPU machines; not FPGA accelerated): ClustalW, NCBI’s BLASTALL (BLASTN, BLASTP, BLASTX, PSI-BLAST, TBLASTN, TBLASTX).
TimeLogic reserves the right to discontinue support of the NCBI BLASTALL suite.

Performance Planning

For planning purposes, assume each G-Series DeCypher Accelerator PCI-Card yields from 200 to 300 CPU-equivalent performance for dynamic-programming algorithms; and 50 to 200 CPUs-equivalent BLAST performance depending on parameter settings. DeCypher's Tera-BLAST accelerated BLAST suite is designed for batched submission of many queries simultaneously and is ideal for high-throughput analytcal pipelines.
