Suggested DeCypher Configurations

Host Servers for DeCypher from HP and Dell

TimeLogic has validated the following servers for single node DeCypher and multi-node DeCypher Minicluster systems with the SeqCruncher PCIe accelerators:

  • One or more Dell 2950iii (2 quad-core Xeon CPUs)

    Dell 2950

  • One or more Hewlett Packard DL380 (2 dual or quad-core Xeon CPUs)

Recommended OS:

  • Red Hat Enterprise 4 Linux (64-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 2003 Server (32-bit)

Specifications and Comments

  • 8-16 GB RAM
  • 500-800 GB of storage (SAS or SATA drives)
  • 1-3 SeqCruncher cards
  • Shared storage (SAN) can also be used for target directories in a multi-node environment


Solaris host servers for DeCypher

TimeLogic's SeqCruncher has been tested in a Sun Ultra45 workstation running Solaris 10. Published specifications from Sun Microsystems also indicate compatibility with V445 servers and I/O expansion chassis for the M4000, however these models have not been tested.

Solaris for x86 hardware is in development. Please contact us to discuss an optimal configuration and the latest information on server compatibility.
